Minimals in a Titanic World – Berlinale Special

Shortly after the Berlinale premiere of Minimals in a Titanic World, a moderated conversation took place with director Philbert Aimé Mbabazi Sharangabo and lead actress Aline Amike, moderated by Peter Becker and Jackson Pearce.

The discussion focused on how the film can be situated within contemporary Rwandan cinema and on how storytelling grounded in the characters’ subjective experience opens up broader social and emotional worlds.

For Aline Amike, the collaboration marked a significant milestone: before completing her studies at MetFilm School Berlin, she took on her first leading role in a feature film, playing Anita in a work that was shown at an international film festival.
