13 Minutes

Air Date
BBC Four | 18th of March 2018 | 10.00 p.m.
Director: Oliver Hirschbiegel

There were 13 minutes. 13 minutes too few for a single carpenter from Königsbronn to assassinate Adolf Hitler.Things turn out very differently than expected on November the 8th 1939 in Munich’s Bürgerbräukeller:
Hitler leaves the place of the attack too early – and Georg Elser becomes the man who could have changed world history and saved millions of lives.

Who was this man, recognizing the danger posed by Hitler earlier than most, daring to act when all others, including the German generals, marched along or remained silent? What did he see, no one else saw or wanted to see? The man who told his torturers to their face he wanted to prevent the bloodshed of the foreseeable World War?

With: Christian Friedel, Burghart Klaußner, Katharina Schüttler, Johann von Bülow, Peter Becker and many others.
